23rd annual " odd and ends month " sale ...not comics, but other things I've unpacked recently ..take a look at my current list !
Vintage KIRK STIEFF STERLING SILVER MATCH SAFE.... Repousse Floral Matchbox ....In Excellent condition as shown . , Marked on the left side bottom back KIRK STIEFF ( with a tiny Diamond in front of name ) ... Marked STERLING on bottom right .
This seems to be unlike the others I saw listed as they are all marked Kirk & Sons , some with lettering on side ...This does not . ........Nice addition to any collection !
UPDATE: The following information was provided by a recognized source :
A bit of help here.. this one is marked KIRK STIEFF because it was made after THE STIEFF COMPANY bought the failing S. Kirk & Son in December 1979 and the Stieff family changed the name of the firm to KIRK STIEFF.
This piece dates from 1984 to 1990 as it has the diamond argent touch mark to the left of the name.
