these 2 Goldtops were purchased together and we are hoping to find them the same owner.
Here we have an uncirculated 1997 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 56' Goldtop reissue in 100% original VERY clean condition. It was purchased in a pair along with a 57' Custom Shop Les Paul Goldtop reissue also listed here on Ebay.com.  Both guitars have been very well cared for these past 25 years.
The CTS pot readings in the cavity cover are from the 14th week of 1995, R1379514. The serial # 6 7102 tells me this is a bonafide 1997 and the guitar was the 102nd produced out of the Historic Gibson Custom Shop that year.
Limited Production/Historic Series ....not your assembly line reissues...these are painstakingly handcrafted replicas of the original LP Gold Tops... exact replicas of the originals down to the finest (tinyist? smallest?) detail...hand picked hardwoods...mahogany and carved maple cap. Currently, new ones are priced at 00, but for some reason they are less desirable...apparently more generic somehow.
This 56' has that clean yet authentic vintage look with the honest light wear, some light checking in the gold finish on the top of the body that does not show in the pictures, and patina setting in especially in the nickel parts. The pickguard has some very hard to see light scratching and is just a slight lighter in yellow color almost want to call it an off white. The fret wear is so light I want to say there is no fretwear.  In fact I want to call this guitar mint but there is a spec in the finish under the tuneomatic and a small scratch area on back of guitar so surface light it might as well be invsible.  So the guitar is near mint just like the 57' that is listed on reverb.com as well.
The more I look at this guitar the more I want to call it mint.  It is has actually not been played but maybe a few times.  A few very minor flaws as mentioned.  A 25 year old guitar in this condition,,, around here we call mint.
