American Showster Guitar Rare USA Made The Biker Lace P/U’s Floyd Rose & Case

Up for sale is this extremely rare USA made American Showster “The Biker” Guitar with Lace Sensor pick ups in a SSS configuration and a Floyd Rose Tremolo Bridge. This guitar was done for dealers to display and take orders for these guitars.
I bought this guitar new from a local dealer some years back after the company went out of business and he had three of them still up on the factory display. He sold me the two that I have this one listed and the other one I own, but he kept the other one which was painted in a one off with a American Eagle motif. He also had a few of the overseas versions which I didn’t care to buy. He filled me in on all the information about the company and the guitars so that’s what I’m passing on to you here since there is very little information out there on the Ethernet about these guitars. He told me the three version of “The Biker” Guitars he had on display were hand built by the company to display to showcase the guitars and the available finishes, and options for ordering one of these guitars.
The USA made American Showster guitars serial numbers always start with EU in the serial numbers as I have another USA made American Showster “The Biker” guitar in gloss black with flames. It also has a serial number that starts with EU. These guitars were hand made in the USA sometime in the late 80’s early 90’s when these guitars started, but were being made over seas towards the end of there existence. They started offering the over seas versions of these guitars to offer them at a more affordable price range. The overseas version of these guitars serial number always started with ECIB.
This guitar comes with the original registration card which listed the model as AS-AB-F.R. Serial number as EU-00189 and the color as Red Graphic. The original Trem arm is included along with original Factory Hardshell Case and key.
This guitar is the 189th guitar made and if you notice the neck plate is blank as they started putting stamped neck plates on all these guitars somewhere around the mid EU-00200 serial numbered guitars which said American Showster, but this one is so early that it was built before they started using those stamped neck plates. The American made Showster guitars always used a neck plate with six screws just like Eddie Van Halen used on his guitars to keep the neck from shifting when he jumped off the drum riser. Again built for display purposes. The over seas models of these guitars came with no neck plate but rather just used four screws and ferrules.
This guitar has a extremely rare factory hand painted graphic on the front, back and even the headstock. I’ve never seen another one like this ever. It’s quite possible that this is a one off but I can’t be 100% sure as there is not much info out there on these guitars. However almost all these guitars came with the flame graphic or solid gloss black finish and most overseas models came with the turquoise trimmed white, black trimmed white, or red trimmed white gas tank styled after the Harley Davidson bike gas tank paint scheme.
Though this is a rare version with the SSS Lace pickups as almost all of these guitars have the HH pickup configuration. The SSS Lace pickup was never offered on the overseas version of this guitar only the HH pick up configuration was offered on the overseas models which were labeled American Showster Humbucker Pick Ups.
This guitar came new with the Schaller Tuners and strap lock buttons as the American Showster company had some sort of agreement with Kramer so they were able to offer the original Floyd Rose Bridge and used the schaller tuners and strap lock buttons just like all USA Kramer guitars came with.
This also has the original Floyd Rose Bridge which I’m not 100% sure but I believe only the USA made versions of these guitars came with this bridge option. Again as almost all these guitars came with the hard tail bridge.
This guitar will come with the original American Showster Hardshell Case which is custom made for these guitars only.
These guitars were built with top notch quality and attention to detail. They used the adjustable truss rod wheel on the neck long before Ernie Ball Guitars started using them. Fender just recently started using this type of truss rod adjustment wheel.
Again this guitar was built for the dealer of these guitars to display and showcase all the options offered for ordering purposes. This guitar has a couple of scratches in the finish on the back of the guitar which I’ve tried to capture in the pics provided but they are not that major and don’t even go through the finish. Other than those few finish flaws this guitar is in excellent condition considering its age.
I believe the American Showster guitar name was purchased sometime back and the company was going to start production of these guitars again but I’ve never heard anything else since that occurred. I’m not sure the new owners or company are still in business as I believe the new company that purchased the rights to the “American Showster” name were trying to purchase the rights to all the older guitar models such as “The Biker”
Because this guitar was displayed in the store and has a few finish flaws I’m listing it as used but make no mistake this thing is in excellent condition.
