    Description

    We are pleased to present an antique Gorham sterling matchsafe, 1.5" x 2.625". It weighs 1.2-ozt (37g). Gift presentation inscription at the edge: "HEP to GAR 1890." Affixed with several silver US coins; there's a very worn 1875 quarter and a 1857 half dime visible, as well as a half dollar and dime. Marked Sterling with the Gorham marks. It's in good shape. There's a light indentation to lid, with a slightly split seam, but it's an old split and the owner kept using it and the seam is worn and smooth and solid.
